Ford Consul 315 1963

This is the lowest milage Consul 315 body shell in New Zeland and expectedly the most original rust free anywhere in the world.

This was one of the last two body shells produced in Lowerhutt. They apparently ran out of components to complete the last two cars so the last two body shells off the production line were sold to Glesson motors in Napier where they sat for 20+ years. Donor doors and guards etc where transferred off crashed cars back in the 60's / 70's.

Glesson first registered this car with the cool plate IB54 in 1977. A chap finally bought the vehicle in the mid-late 90's with the intention of putting it on the road for his Mrs. She unfortunately died not long after, hence the project stopped.

I acquired it in 2000 and have essentially dry garaged it since.

Kids and other projects have come along hence time to offer it to a good home.

The Bodyshell is rock solid and quite special given the history. Motor, gearox and brakes are all in excellent condition. It has near brand new tyres all round.

The car has basically been on the restoration register all its life and has never been in daily use. The only workout it has ever had was the one-way trip from Wellington to Tauranga when I shifted up 7 years ago. It drove like a new one..!

It does need some minor work to get a WOF and put it on the road. (e.g. it needs a passenger seatbelt as one has never been fitted)

The car has a sound coat of paint, but it doesn't really do the A1 bodyshell justice unfortunately. I suggest you need to view it to appreciate what you'd be getting.
