Land Rover Series 2A 1967
$4,000
Description
It is a 1967 Series 2a Station Wagon, so over 40 years old (v.cheap registration and insurance) which has been fairly modified in order to make it a better daily driver.
It has a Toyota B diesel (3.0l) fitted, with the 5-speed manual from an 80`s Land-Cruiser. (24v start w/ series parallel switch), so all electrics are 12v Landrover), and it breathes through an proper Airflow snorkel.
It gets around 10km/l round town, better on open road, and will do 100km/hr (not on hills though) but cruises at 90km/hr. Same sort of power, but more torque and economy than a 2.25 petrol.
It has a series 3 dash, with VDO temp and oil pressure gauges, as well as an good stereo (could do with some better speakers though) and aftermarket heater.
It has doors off an early 110, so wind up windows and less noise. Fibreglass 110 bonnet and defender front panel w/ chequer plate wing protectors. New door seals all round, bulkhead vent seals and body seals.
All brakes were replaced for the certification in 2006 - so new drums, shoes, lines and cylinders. It has a servo fitted to improve braking, and AVM free-wheeling hubs.
It has sealed beam headlights which are far better then the standard ones.
It`s been certified with the wee roll hoop (for the 3point seatbelts when the roof is off) as well as the cut down rear bulkhead and bucket seats.
The tyres are 7.50x16 Michelin XZL`s - the same ones as used on the Camel Trophy, so traction is not an issue.
Comes with Landcruiser Diffs (not fitted), and a roof rack.
This is a great wee Landy but with a 2nd child just born, more seats are required.
Happy to answer any questions.
