Description

This a 1997 Honda CRM 250. It is the AR model (Active Radical), the last of the CRMs which were made over a 10 year period.

It is a competition spec, dual purpose bike, and represents in many people's eyes, the ultimate development of the 2 stroke engine. It is fully road legal.

It is a single cylinder, liquid cooled, oil injected, highly advanced 2 stroke developing 40HP. How many other 250 cc bikes of any kind develop that sort of power?

It has an 11 ltr tank ( including 2.5 ltrs reserve) and I have regularly seen more than 200km before hitting reserve.

These bikes have a cult following, like some earlier Japanese 2 strokes. Just type in Honda CRM250 on a search engine and loads of info will come up. Try crm250.com

The engineering and reliability of the CRM250 are legendary, and mileages often exceed 50,000 km before any sort of overhaul. In any event being a 2 stroke single, any such overhaul is simple.

This bike rides superbly on or off road. It will hold 150kph easily on road.

It has always been run on fully synthetic oil. It is in great condition, but has had a few touch ups on the paint here and there, as it has been used on adventure rides, as you would expect. All the plastics are in great unmarked condition, and the tank is free of any dents.

One of the interesting things about this bike, is that the battery can never go flat, and therefore never let you down. The reason being, that it doesn't have one. It is easily started by the kick start, and when running all the electrics are then enabled.

Rego is on hold, and wof expires shortly, and will be renewed on sale.

Honda's equivalent bike today, the CRF250 , 4 stroke, costs around $12,000 and is not road legal as standard.

Selling due to the fact I need a dual seat adventure bike ( probably end up with a dull BMW 650 GS) to take wife as pillion on adventure rides ,and this is a single seat bike.

Will assist with shipping ( at buyers expense)
