This is Routeburn Flats, which was our lunch stop on the first day of the Routeburn Track. This is a three-day hiking trail across the mountains from Otago to Fiordland, NZ. After spending several hours hiking uphill amongst trees, we emerged to this stunning clearing for a break, before more uphill climbing to the first night’s stop at Routeburn Falls Hut. This clearing is close to the Routeburn Flats hut, which we didn’t stay at on this occasion.

The painting is painted around the edges, fitted with a hanging wire and ready to hang on the wall. High quality professional paint has been used. This is an original painting by a New Zealand artist.
