Description
Now considered a rare volume. Publisher: Forest and Bird Protection Society of New Zealand, New Zealand, 1959. Remarkably good condition. Green marble effect covers showing light wear. Binding and spine firm, stapled pages and covers tied with a cord. A few pages have very light creasing to corners (please see photos for examples). 24 full page coloured plates of forest-inhabiting birds by Miss L.A. Daff, with descriptive letterpress.
In June 1932, Daff, who'd served on the staff of the Otago Museum for a year, left Dunedin for Wellington to fulfill a commission for the New Zealand Bird Protection Society to paint a series of pictures of New Zealand native birds.
