Description

This book covers No. 489 (RNZAF) Torpedo Bomber Squadron from its inception on 12 August 1941 at the Royal Air Force Coastal Command’s station at Leuchars airfield in Scotland, right through to its disbandment in Banff on 15 August 1945. The author has drawn on hours of interviews and delved deeply into personal account, albums and anecdotes to reveal the true character of No. 489 (NZ) Squadron. Containing over 1,300 photos and colour images, the book is packed full of incredible detail that chronicles the squadron’s short but vibrant history. This is an A4 softcover book by Don Wilkie contains 490 pages

One review: My first reaction is Wow! It is a massive book, with so many photos, and you've done an amazing job to piece together what looks like such a comprehensive history eight decades later. Really nicely presented too, a really great looking book.
