Description
Late 50's - early 60's
A highly desirable and rare mid-century modern mahogany floor lamp with stunning sculptured organic forms and George Nelson style 'onion shade' that compliments the asymmetric stand.
Biomorphism was an art movement that began in the 20th century. It models artistic design elements on naturally occurring patterns or shapes reminiscent of nature and living organism.
The lamp was made in NZ and although a few have been coming up for sale on the market over the past few years the designer remains a bit of a mystery, some think they were sold via the Auckland based modern design furniture store Jon Jensen in the 1950's, whatever the case these lamps are now rare, highly desirable and in great demand.
Overall Height: 1.520 - Shade 400 Diameter x 300
Very nice condition with no nicks detected in the shade.
