This stunning German made miniature Grandfather clock was hand crafted in 1901 and is a very item in New Zealand.

These where often produced by apprentice clock makers to demonstrate their cabinetry skills before progressing to make full size clocks.

The ideas was they demonstrated their woodworking skills without consuming full scale amounts of expense timbers.

This example is an absolutely beauty! The attention to detail and quality of the build is high. The case is made from Walnut and is in lovely condition with impressive workmanship.

The case is carved in the traditional style and features brass decorations at the top. The front of the clock has a detailed pattern as does the top of the hood. The grain, colour and overall shape of the clock are fantastic and can only really be appreciated close up!

The case has had a quality German hair spring escapement movement. This has just been fully overhauled (dismantled, cleaned and oiled using professional Mobius Swiss Clock oil) so run beautifully and keep good time, having a lovely soft tick.

The face of the clock features Arabic numbers and matching black hands, while the brass Bessel has been polished to a golden shine.

At the rear of the clock is a dust cover which when removed provides access to the winder and adjuster for the hands,
