Description
Set of 2 nesting dolls. This set is unusual as the dolls are both male.
There are only 2 dolls, I don't know if there were ever anymore to the set.
Hand crafted and decorated with pokerwork. Like these dolls, the first Russian nesting doll was poked and painted with gouache and covered with varnish by S. V. Maliutin.
There is a small split in the smaller doll (see photo).
Stamped "Made in USSR" on the bottom of the larger doll.
I've had the dolls assessed and was told they are 40-50 years old.
