Description
Stamped circa 1850-1899, from the historic kilns of Tokoname prefecture, comes this Meiji era delightful pair of redware dragon vases.
About 24cms (9 ½") tall, one has a 1cm area of glaze missing on the lip (see photo 4) and a smaller one about 0.5cms opposite - not bad when you consider the age! Otherwise, truly remarkable condition.
Has extensively gilded, raised "ribbon through ring handles" design on one side and Tokoname characteristic dragons floating through stippled cloud on the others. The photos don't do justice to the skilled type of glaze but please study them all the same.
Because I pride myself in packaging, and show great care and respect for your items, I don't wish to package them together as they're quite weighty. I will charge you shipping only for one and send the two of them in separate boxes. How's that for a good deal?
