This is a fine quality genuine antique George the third period matched set of 8 chairs - including 2 carvers. Lovely condition and colour. The chairs are numbered 1 to 7 with one carver not numbered - the Roman numeral numbers are stamped on the underside of the front rail under the seat. As an example, you can see one picture shows the number "IV" on the front rail under the seat. I believe these 8 chairs have been together ever since they were made in about 1790 -1800. This is the first time these chairs have been for sale in New Zealand.
