I am listing an ancient ring from Britain.

These were digging finds around the Roman city of Londinium (London)

Found around sites well known to have been inhabited by the Roman Legions and people employed by the Roman State to support the troops and administration. The best guess at age would be around 200 AD in the later Roman period to 600 AD when the Jutes and Saxons were prevalent throughout the area.

These rings are from that period but could easily have been manufactured by anyone with the knowledge of smelting.

Many rings were made from alloy, bronze, copper or zinc. The rings in theses auctions are very simple, made for the common populace. There are many gold and silver examples adorned with gems and intricate designs, made for the elite but these were too expensive for the common people of London at the time.
