You are bidding on a British Empire campaign medal awarded to officers and men of British and imperial forces who served in any theatre of the First World War against the Central European Powers from 5th August 1914 to 31st December 1915.The medal was awarded to John Sheddan.Reg. no: 9/207 NZEF. He was born 15/6/1885 in Southland New Zealand. Enlisted 19/8/1914 and was discharged 12/7/1918 being no longer fit for war service due to his wounds.His length of service was 3 years 328 days. 86 days in New Zealand and 3years 243 days overseas. Regiment: Otago Mounted Rifles.He served in Egypt, France and the Dardanelles.He was awarded the 1914-1915 Star, the British War Medal and the Victory Medal.Unfortunately I only have to 1914-1915 Star.The medal has a tarnish on the left hand side and the ribbon has a tear in it due to its age.I haven't been able to locate his other 2 medals.
