Vintage Modello Depositato Carboy glass flagon/jug. Makers mark Modello Depositato is on the base with numbers that look like 645mm. A5 is on the side. I cannot read the rest at the top. This flagon is in good condition just needs a wash. The seal is intact. The stopper has some damage to the edge, still seals well. The fermentation lock works well. Apprx: 37.5H x 57cm round. "Demijohn" is an old word that formerly referred to any glass vessel with a large body and small neck The glass carboy is a preferred fermentation vessel for many home brewers. Glass carboys are easier to clean. A carboy, demijohn, or jimmy john is a rigid container with a typical capacity of 20 to 60 L (5 to 15 gallons). They are used for in-home fermentation of beverages, often beer, cider, or wine.
