A one of a kind, one-off, collectible stage piece which was originally made for the Wearable Arts show in Wellington. I bought it from the WOW museum here in Nelson.

In the WOW show, the goddess Venus walked up onto the opened flower (a bit like a Venus fly-trap), and the 4 'petals' closed up around her to form a spaceship, which then launched above the stage in a shower of pyrotechnics. It has 4 hitching points for a lifting harness. There is a hatch in the floor where Venus could climb up through when it was closed up.

When the petals are open, they become 4 staircases, which have switchable 12V pink LED lights which flash under the stairs!! 12V Battery included.

Made of solid aluminium, it measures approx 2m across in the middle, and it stands approx 1.8m high when it is properly sitting on its feet (ie: when not up on the included wheel frame in the photos). As you can imagine, it is SOLID and very heavy. The only thing which isn't aluminium is the ply floor & faux fur. The scrap value alone must be in the hundreds.

In great condition, with a few typical scuffs and minor marks etc. It was bought to use in our stage show, but it turns out the venue's stage is too small to fit all of our other gear which is a real shame for us.

It has since been used as a kids playhouse, and the kids have even slept in it overnight, which they LOVED! The envy of the neighbourhood kids!! Can fit around 4 kids inside (including a 12 year old).

This is a well-engineered piece of art that would have literally cost many THOUSANDS to build. Would be a shame to have to scrap it.

Great for a fashion show, art piece, talking point, playhouse, or to display another feature piece!
