Simpson & Williams Ltd Christchurch booksellers, printers and stationers... this company has been in operation under this name from 1893 through until 1973, so it's not easy to pin an exact date on this letter opener, although by the style and wording I would estimate maybe 1930s or 40s? If someone has a more accurate idea, please pipe up in the Q&A, I'd love to hear from you.

In pretty good overall condition, the blade has a little rust in spots and the very tip isn't perfect (probably from stabbing Gerry who STILL hasn't returned my red stapler, mumble mumble), but the brass handle is in excellent condition with all the lettering clean, crisp and clear. Blade length is 110mm, handle 80mm for a total length of 190mm.

No problem to combine shipping on multiple items - just advise when you send shipping instructions including appropriate auction details. Successful bidder can also collect from Hamilton East if preferred. Items shipped without tracking are on an 'all care, no responsibility' basis.
