Description
This 80c CAL stamp was issued by the Kiwi Stamp Circuit (NZ's largest stamp exchange club) to celebrate New Zealand's hosting and participation in the World Cricket Cup. It was released on 24th March, the date of the New Zealand v South Africa semi-final at Eden Park.
The design features 'Mr Kiwi' carrying a cricket bat. The year of issue, 2015, shows vertically in small letters at the bottom left of the stamp.
The pair illustrated, is from the bottom left corner of the sheet - CALS supplied may be from one of the other corners. If you want a specific corner, please specify and we will try to oblige.
Although performing the same function as stamps, CALs are described as self-adhesive privately sponsored labels. These are all postally valid and bear a NZ Post Logo but are not sold over Postshop counters nor via the Philatelic Bureau. Single copies will be available from NZPOst in their annual CAL pack.
CALs have been a the feature of New Zealand Post's stamp issuing policy since 2005 - the first CALs were all 45 cent values but subsequent ones have been 50c, 60c, 70c and the latest are 80c. They are listed in Campbell Paterson catalogue supplements.
The stamps were printed by NZPost in sheets of 50 (5 x 10), with a limited print run of 1000.
Additional items available to the successful bidder.
KSC Cricket stamps will be on the outer envelope when posted.
Buyer can collect (Mission Bay).
