2008 FIRST SPRING FLIGHT TO ANTARCTICA.
After a long winter without physical contact, the first flight in Spring in greeted with much happiness each year by the residents of both the American McMurdo Base and the nearby New Zealand Ross Station.
This postcard was carried on the first Spring flight to Antarctica in 2008. It shows a C-17 Globemaster on the Ice runway at McMurdo the previous year.
