As a child Kirk demonstrated a natural ability to capture form and meaning in the simplest of concepts. She has been formerly recognised for her beautiful renditions of people and animals. Her medium leaves behind the conventional constraints and allows her to capture the most stunning forms and details. Kirk’s latest works are an entirely original concept in contemporary art, being fun and youthful while at the same time signifying deep meaning. Her latest works are a reflection of who she is as an artist and a person. These works juxtapose the simple and the complex, both in technique and in visual aesthetic.

Michelle Kirk describes herself as a ‘contemporary realist.’ Although her art appears detailed, it is not the detail that interests her, but rather to create paintings that look spontaneous and convey a sense of life.
