I have kept my standard wraps at this size as it swaddles baby well, but avoids bulkiness.If requested, I can make wraps up to 90cm x 90cm for $40, or up to 1m x 1.2m for $45. I edge my wraps in satiny fold-over elastic, which gives a nice finish and keeps the edges soft without overstretching the fabric, while it still stretches with the fabric when swaddling. I prefer doing it this way as it is more durable, and won’t unravel if there is a loose thread.

All my merino items are made at home by me and are not pre-packaged (partly for ecological reasons). Because merino is a natural fibre it adjusts to Babys body temperature so it is suitable all year round. This style of wrap was tested on my grandson, Charlie. Due to the stretch he stayed swaddled all night, allowing him to sleep longer.

As far as washing goes, I recommend a cool gentle wash, though my daughter, a busy full-time working mum, used to throw her denim blue wraps in with the rest of her wash on cold cycle, and they seemed to thrive!
