The Safababy creates a false 'foot' in a cot, promoting the 'feet-to-foot' sleeping position and keeps bedding in place. Babies whose heads are covered by blankets or sheets are at a greater risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS or cot death). To prevent a child moving under the covers, they should be placed with their feet at the end of the cot (the feet-to-foot position). However, if a baby is placed at the foot of a cot, there is a chance they may move up the cot away from the covers and get cold. The Safababy effectively shortens the cot, creating a snug environment for your child to sleep. As you baby grows it can be easily moved down the cot. A security strap which goes under the mattress, makes sure that bedding is held in place.
