Description
In the summer of 1960 five Englishmen and one American under the leadership of Wilfred Noyce set out to climb an unknown peak, Trivor (25,370 ft.) in the Karakoram Himalaya. No photographs existed of the mountain facethey intended to climb, although the summit overlooked both China and Russia. This abstract, unexplored landscape suggested to Noyce the stimulus of another path of discovery: the analysis of the magic of the mountain, and its impact upon the very different individuals of his team. In this book he achieves the double focus of a physical ascent and the reflection of a mountain in the mind' eye.
Hardover in good used condition. Published by The Travel Book Club in 1963.
