Description

Tibet Today Author - Hardback, DJ Published by Foreign Language Press, 1974 1st Edition, pp 116, Colour Illustrations. VG Copy

This is an interesting photographic survey of Tibet, with a one page introduction on the "peaceful liberation of Tibet in 1951" and how much better the new Tibet is under Chinese rule. There are no authors, editors, mentioned, the photographs have short notes that describe the landscape and the "emancipated" people. All this aside, the photographs are beautiful, awesome views of the land, mountains, farms, ancient monasteries, and numerous ones of ever smiling beautiful Tibetan people going about their daily lives, in farming, craft centers, factories, ones of lamas "enjoying freedom of religious belief, living a normal religious life", engineering, socializing, and much more.

Key Words- mountains, mountaineering, climbing, adventure, exploration, snow, travel, Trekking, Arctic, Polar
