This First Editon 1947 'Big Golden Book' measures 24.5cm x 34cm. It has had one owner, me.

The author is well known and, I guess you would say, famous for her beautifully illustrated children's books.

This story of a lonely bunny who finds an egg and befriends the chick therein, is told with gorgeous pictures and simple text. The colours in the illustrations are crisp and clear despite the books age.

The condition of the illustrated cover boards is good, though marked with age. Sadly, the spine is quite damaged and the price asked reflects this. In reasonably good condition all around, this book is worth much, much more than the asking price. I am selling it so that maybe another child can enjoy it as much as I and my grandchildren did, or it can be restored.
