In Large Softcovers, Signed by the Author on the title page, First Edition 2012, Black and White Photographs, illustrations, plans, maps, 126 Pages, sticker mark on half title page from part removal of previous owners name sticker, Published by The Auithor Lower Hutt. A Near Fine Copy. On Books rear- 'I have set the book out in a progressive format beginning with biographical details of James Gear himself, moving on to a brief historical analysis of Petone and then a more chronological account of the Company itself. I wanted to look at its workings and its performances over its long tenure adjacent to Petone beach. Specifically, I then examined three unusual yet quite remarkable components of the Company, namely the storage hulk Jubilee and Petone Wharf, Gear island, and the Beach Railway. All three had very different impacts on the Gear but all were an integral part of its workings' Fascinating History of the Company and Early Petone.
