Rhythm in work brings order and a familiar sense of the pulsing of life. Bev's enjoyment and involvement with farming the land inspired her thoughts and poetry. Bev Ludemann was born in Masterton and, with two younger brothers, was raised on a Wairarapa farm. As a teacher, she taught at schools in Masterton, Hawkes Bay, South and West Otago. In 1973 she, and her husband Ross, moved to their farm in West Otago.
