The Divisional Cavalry embarked aboard the Rangitata on 5 January 1940, the first members of the 2nd NZEF to leave for overseas service in WWII. They fought in Egypt, Greece and Crete and remained as an Occupational force after the war ended, being officially disbanded on 1 September 1947

Cloth split completely along rear fold (epps are still intact)
