Love these magazines. They are a window into how we thought and what we aspired to back in the day. Great painted covers, ripping yarns, hilarious ads. I've had a lot of pleasure out this collection but want to move it on now. Wide World Magazine was a publishing phenomen, first launched in 1898 ( I have edition no 1 if you are a connoisseur). It ran through to Dec 1965. There are some tricky things about dating of editions. During paper shortages 2 months were sometimes issued together in one magazine, and the UK edition was distributed a month before the NZ one so there can be 2 editions with same date but different covers. I am going to progressively list the pre-1950s editions and the ones from 1960-1965 which are almost a full set. Condition as shown, some damage to spines befitting their age and quality of paper.
