One of the ways to support student’s knowledge and use of Te Reo Maori is to ensure that within the classroom environment, bilingual signs are used to reinforce vocabulary.

This resource, which will be emailed to you, as a .pdf file, contains 144 cards each 6 cm x 9.cm. for you to label objects in the classroom or use as part of your instructions or discussions

Each colourful card has both the English and Maori word for the object.

Also included in the resource are cards containing common nouns, verbs and adjectives.

The cards can be used as an independent quiz activity for a small group or buddy work. The resource includes

• 24 common verbs
• 8 colours
• 16 animals
• Days of the week

If the cards are cut horizontally in slightly different ways they can become a set of self correcting Matching Puzzles for an independent activity.
