Description

Please ignore the start/reserve price, see below.

Univac part. Possibly from a Mk3 unit from the 60's.

Unknown, cant find more info on this part. it is a multi rotary switch module with most all of the gold switch assemblys intact, and working - 3 way - 4 poles times 27 modules, all linked by missing steel bar. each approx 80mm square. There is 27 full double sided HEAVILY gold plated ones, these also have 12 pure silver contacts and have an estimated total silver weight of about 100 grams. There is also 2 blank gold plated ones.

Main base PCB board assembly measures about 600mm wide by 140mm high. It has heavy gold plated sockets for the cards, as well as the gold plated pins around the perimeter. I have had the pure gold content estimated at just under an ounce. These were made in the 60's when gold was cheap!

In lower middle & right part of photo I show enlarged sections. Lower left part of photo is of an old IBM huge antique hard-drive. - make an offer in comments below.

This was purchased for recovering the silver and gold content which will cost approx $100 using an acid / Auric Chloride chemical process to obtain 24k pure gold. (the siver requires no refining as it isnt laminated to copper. I know a refiner, who does this, and takes about 100 worth of the gold as payment, but they need ounce lots minimum. Let me know if you are interested in a run as well. I am reluctant to destroy, as this is a massive collectors item from one of the first computers ever made. I wish I could place on ebay, but, will offer up here before destroying in about 3 weeks, then at least I can say "I tried" :)

Please ignore the start/reserve, may sell for less, may depend on where its going.. NZ tech museum ideal.. have any contacts? - let them know quickly! pls make contact or a discreet offer in comments below.

thanks
