How much Fondant do I need to cover my cake - top and sides? Quantities are based on a standard height cake 2 1/2 to 3 inches high. Cakes that are higher will require more Fondant. It's always better to have more Fondant than you need before you start your Cake Decorating project. And remember that any leftover Fondant can be wrapped in plastic wrap and stored in an airtight container for later use.
