Heron - One of the beautiful yarns in the Zealana range, this worsted weight yarn is comprised of 80% fine New Zealand Merino, 20% New Zealand Possum fibre.

It is light, soft (non-scratchy) and very warm. The beautiful heathery flecks give each colour a wonderful complexity and depth.

Each skein is 50g (approximately 100m/109y).

4-5mm needles, 18-20 stitches x 26-28 rows to 10 cm (always check your gauge though!)

Worsted weight is about 10 ply.

Made in New Zealand.

The Zealana range is made in New Zealand by Woolyarns in the lower North Island. They specialise in high quality fibres and particularly in Fine New Zealand Merino and Possum fibre blends. The New Zealand Possum is an ecological disaster, destroying masses of native bush and endangering bird life. These yarns make use of a fibre that would otherwise be wasted. Possum is incredibly light and warm, and being a fine fibre it is non-scratchy.

Most Zealana yarns are destined for export so I am very pleased to have it to offer, as a stand alone product and for use as beautiful complementary solids for the striking Noro range. Heron blends beautifully with the Noro Silk Garden and Kureyon yarns.
