Lovely example of the XD "Fleetleader" model from Minolta. All camera functions are working perfectly! Includes a very tidy motordrive (Autowinder D). The 1.4 lens is mechanically and cosmetically VG. The glass has no scratches, but has a little dust and fungus starting under the front element.

The XD design was follow-on (in the Leitz-Minolta joint venture) after the XE (prototype for the Leica R3) and formed the chassis for the R4 series of cameras. 3 years later Leitz released the R4 with their own shutter priority "improvements", only to be plagued with electronic problems. The XD was 'bullet proof' and a favourite for many Minolta Pros. This was one of Minolta's "special" cameras and in the same quality league as XE, XK, CL, and CLE. The Leica R4 - R7 trace their heritage to the XD. While the wonderful XE's and XK's had mechanical "presence" and "heft"...the XD is one of the nicest handling of all Minoltas ever produced.

Body needs film door light seal replacement. If buyer wants to run film, I have a contact in the US who will supply "the best" quality self adhesive kits for about $20 delivered.

I have described the camera as I would want it described, if I were the buyer. This camera is nearly 40 years old, I'm not a dealer and there is no warranty except as to description.
