Description

Bought brand new October last year. Still under manufacturer warranty, however it's worked flawlessly from day 1 for hundreds of hours.

Always was on my desk at home so it's still in mint condition, no defects or damage. Everything from new is included. Now it's back in the original box with the manual.

The Y-split twin power cable and XLR cables in the photo (worth about $50 together) are not included.

Has both RCA and 3-pin XLR (balanced) inputs. Auto-detects whether the headphone connected is balanced or unbalanced (single-ended). Can run in balanced or unbalanced mode regardless of the external input.

The Quattro amp has a very quiet background (especially in balanced mode), delivers music accurate and fast, detailed and with a nice soundstage. Drived my 600ohm Beyer T1's with plenty of grunt. It's a great modern solid state amp, small but so powerful. It's not treble focused like the Little Dot MKVII, it's tonally flat but dynamic from top to bottom, clear highs and clean strong lows. It's the most affordable and compact balanced HPA in the market, matches other balanced HPAs that cost twice or more, for the fraction of the price.

The fun part of this amp is that you can easily change the op-amps to match your taste. There's 4 on the balanced circuit, and 1 dual op-amp for the single end. I've upgraded the dual to the well regarded Burr Brown OPA627BP x2. This improved sound clarity and bass quality. Cost me $50 for this mod.

The main advantage of running headphones balanced is that it fully powers both the left and right channels without ground. Unlike single ended which is prone to ground noise and divides power to two channels. When balanced, what you get is a noise-free, clearer and much powerful sound.

Cost me over $550 landed including the mod. My loss is your gain.

It does great with any headphones but especially recommended for HD650, Grado, LCD-2

Edit: mini-i in the photos is SOLD. This is a rare chance to find a Quattro for sale in NZ.
