Here is how I judge my cards:

Mint: May have barely visible edging but otherwise mint.

Near Mint: Almost mint, may have light edging but no scratches, bends or other signs of wear.

Excellent: Very minor wear that can include edging, light scratches but no creases or folds.

Light Play - Will have white edging, visible scratches, or light creasing but no major damage or folds.

Heavy Play - Card will have easily seen damage
