Is formulated for heavy chest congestion. It contains both the expectorant Guaiphenesin and the mucolytic, Bromhexine. Guaiphenesin increases the flow of natural secretions along the respiratory tract. Bromhexine liquefies and breaks down the secretions. This combination helps break up a cough by loosening congestion so you can cough it up and get it off your chest.

Each 10ml of oral liquid contains Guaiphenesin 200mg and Bromhexine Hydrochloride 8mg. Also contains Sodium Benzoate, Saccharin Sodium and Sorbitol 10.5g/30ml.

DOSAGE

• Adults & children over 12 years: 10ml every 8 hours.
• Children 6-11 years: 5ml every 8 hours (only on advice of a pharmacist, doctor or nurse practitioner).
• Maximum of 3 doses in 24hrs. Do not use in children under 6 years.

BEFORE TAKING ROBITUSSIN, SEEK MEDICAL ADVICE:

• for use in children 6-11 years
• if you have a persistent chronic cough, such as occurs with smoking, asthma, chronic bronchitis and emphysema.
• if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
• if you have a history of gastric ulcers
• if you are taking other cough and cold medicines

DO NOT TAKE ROBITUSSIN:

• in children under 6 years
• if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients

WARNINGS

• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not exceed the recommended dosage
• Discontinue use & consult your doctor if you have a cough that persists for more than 1 week, tends to recur or is accompanied by fever, rash or persistent headache
• In case of overdose, discontinue use & immediately contact the Poisons Information Centre (NZ 0800 764 766)
