Description
Moraceae Nigra Queenie
This sought after variety "Queenie" are trees propagated from the genuine old black Mulberry tree at Lincoln University which was named Queenie.
Queenie is a selected form of the Black English Mulberry tree with attributes (better form and bigger fruit) that make it worth while growing over the normal species.
A very rare large growing, long lived tree that provides you with a huge bounty of delicious tasting berry-like fruit, not unlike Loganberries.
The berries are intensely flavoured and have their own unique distinctive delectable flavour.
The Black English Mulberry will live for 200 years or more and make handsome heritage garden trees, often becoming gnarled and twisted as they age and looking most picturesque in a garden setting.
They prefer warm sheltered sunny spots in deep loamy soils that hold moisture, even in dry weather.
Mulberry trees are very hardy to cold winters (being deciduous) and are pest/disease free.
They fruit reliably and prolifically and it’s a rare fruit you never see available for sale.
The Mulberry Tree will grow to aprox 5-10m tall with a 4-8m spread.
You are bidding on ONE healthy specimen grade new season Black Mulberry Queenie tree in a p12 bag standing aprox 60-70cm tall from top of bag to top of branches.
Happy to combine with any of my other listings.
Full cultural growing information provided.
