Flower picking can be maintained if the spike is cut down to a new flower bud. The cut flowers last well in water and can also be dried. The first cutting will yield spikes up to 60cm with later cutting approximately half that length. Flower spikes should be hung upside down to dry. If this is done carefully the flowers keep their colour for some time. Annual The plant grows quickly and easily in any well-drained soil receiving full sunshine.
