Description
1998 gold and silver watch purchased for $1000.00
I brought it off the reserve bank in 1998 for $1000; so even though listed as 1994 I assume that they actually came out in 1998
Apart from saying it’s a swiss watch what brand I don’t know; back then the perth Mint made NZ coins so I assume it was made under contract for Perth Mint under contract for the Reserve Bank
Trade me comment on a past coin watch that was for sale
One of the lowest mintage coin related issues ever released by the Reserve Bank, only 200 made.
The Reserve Bank coin watch features the special Bi-Metal 1994 50 cent coin, the same version used in the proof sets with a sterling silver outer ring.
It has the Reserve Bank coat of arms on the back of the quartz watch with mintage of only 200.
WIKIPEDIA COMMENT
Commemoratives[edit]
In 1969, to mark the bicentennial of the Endeavour's arrival to New Zealand, a commemorative version of the fifty cent with the Machin portrait was produced with an inscription on its edge.[9] Since no regular fifty cent coins were issued in 1969 the coin is rare.
In 1994, a bimetallic coin of fifty cents was issued to mark the 225th anniversary of the Endeavour's arrival. The coin featured the Maklouf portrait and is New Zealand's only ever bimetallic coin
