Description
Early Antique Stirling Silver Reverse Fusee Pocket Watch - London 1853
In Good Running Order!! Keeps approx 2-3 minutes over 24 hours and is in good condition apart from some very faint hairlines and a repair to the edge of the seconds dial, and the case back cover hinge has some minor play, as seen in the pictures. The movement in this piece has a reverse train which can be seen by the ratchet and click setup being visible instead of hidden under the dial. They were popular around this period but are fairly scarce to find. It has a solid sterling silver open face case with full english hallmarks for "London 1853" and the makers mark "RHJ" for Robert Henry Jones. The dial is white enamel porcelain with roman numerals, a seconds dial at 6 o'clock and gold spade hands. It has a clean glass crystal to protect the dial. The movement is an english key wind, 9 jewel, gilt full plate fusee and chain drive movement with a lever escapement and reverse train. The movement is numbered "82246". Comes with a key!!
Diameter: 50mm Total Weight: 110g
