Description
RUSS COLLINS ‘COBRA 1000 SS’
This bike started life in California U.S.A Built from a Honda 750 four about the mid 1970’s. Russ Collins is famous for motor bike drag racing, his “claim to fame” was three Honda Four Motors in a row. At some stage he teamed up with Paul Dunstall who built aftermarket Fibreglass (‘Cafe Racer Style’) tanks, seats, fairings etc.
Russ Collins used a 750 4 frame, stroked the motor out to 1000 cc’s used Paul Dunstall tank fairing, rear set foot controls and finish, with a paint job that was very typical .. For the mid-70’s - hence the Cobra snake on the tank which is original paint.
In 2007 I started with the frame (chromed), seat, tank, fairing, rear set controls and forks. I bought another bike that was a runner with a good motor, and this is the end result, completed in September 2009.
CAFÉ RACER: RC Cobra 1000 Honda built by Russ Collins from Gardena, California.
