Description

A genuine unrestored 1963 BSA Rocket Gold Star . These bikes are the HOLY GRAIL of BSA,s . Made for 2 years only they made a total of 1,584 bikes of which 272 were scramblers and 10 were American specials . This means there are very few survivors so they are very rare . This particular bike is an unrestored very original example that has had some recent work done . The mileage is a guess as the speedo has been done up at some stage but the condition of the bike certainly points to this bike not having done a lot of work . Frame number is GA10-523 and engine number is DA10R-9175 HHC .The motor has been reconditioned . The tank has been chromed and painted . The rear rim chromed and the wheel rebuilt . The guards (original) and stays chromed . And a new exhaust system . This particular bike was purchased in the UK in 1985 as a one owner bike by a NZ collector who eventually sold it to me a while ago . The bike is no show pony with paint scrapes and wear and tear as you would expect from a bike this old but it is still very tidy . I have loved riding this bike but I am thinning the herd a bit . This has been such a pleasure to ride . This is the upgraded 50 HP model with the Spitfire cam , Siamese exhaust system and the RRT2 gearbox and it is a very fast bike for its age . With a top speed od 115 to 120 mph and capable of 90 mph cruising these bikes are awesome to ride and this is a reliable well maintained example . Has the correct frame and engine numbers it left the factory with and has been authenticated as a genuine Rocket Goldie by the BSA owners Club . There is another 2 for sale in the world at the moment . One being auctioned in the UK and looking to get 20 ,000 Pounds and one for sale on E Bay UK for 22,000 pounds . Both have been restored and an unrestored example is always worth more .
