Austin Other A35 1958

A rare opportunity to purchase this genuine very low mileage car – it was last on the road October 1995. It is still on its original firestone gum dipped tyres including matching spare – no sign of perishing. Most tyres if not all would pass WOF.

For the past 19 years this classic has been on blocks in dry storage in a locked shed. During this past year the brakes were overhauled including stainless liners where required. The sump was removed and cleaned of sediment before starting after the long storage period. Motor runs beautifully as you would expect at this mileage (I checked the vehicle info on CarJam some years ago and found mileage absolutely incorrect - many 1000’s of miles recorded while the vehicle was securily locked in my care – possible confusion between the letter 1 and the numeral I on number plate ?)

I am the 3rd owner and have the original ownership papers as well as the current ones. Registration is on hold. Original upholstery is in excellent condition as are the rear carpets, the front carpet is new.

Things that need doing…. *The car has very little rust except for the inner bottoms of the 2 front doors which need attention.

• The car obviously needs a full repaint. The patch priming is over surface rust. *Needs a windscreen rubber
  *Three very small repairs to upholstery (spare material provided)
• Sump gasket will need resealing

This car is worth a decent professional paint job. I have run out of time and was not prepared to dolly it up with a quick paint job to sell. This would have to be one of the best unmolested unrestored A35’s still available in NZ.
