1979 Mercedes Benz 450SEL 6.9, Sold New here in NZ 1980, has had 2 owners travelled 135,000 km, the car has been in storage for 15 years, have had it running for short time to pump up suspension, there appears to be an issue with the mechanical Bosch fuel injection system, and is running full rich, we have not disturbed any engine parts and is as it was when it went into storage, The most notable W116 was the high-performance, limited-production 450 SEL 6.9, which was the first production car to use an electronic 4-wheel multi-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS), as an option from 1978 on. This model boasted the largest engine installed in a postwar Mercedes-Benz up to that time, and also features a self-leveling hydropneumatic suspension.
