The plot thickens was a change in direction musically from the previous album,where as a joyful noise unto the creator is acid jazz at its peak,with the plot thickens ,galliano seemed to have taken the gloves off for this album,it is more soulish/funk/rock style rather than the acid jazz grooves of the previous two albums.
The change in direction,produced a great album,with great songs like twyford down and rise and fall,which on the live circuit were always crowd favourites.
from the rock of long time gone to the accoustic soul of little one ,the plot thickens is a diverse album,which musically holds together,galliano had always been a great live band and listening to the albums you realise what a musically tight outfit they were.galliano are sadly no more but with albums like the plot thickens and a joyful noise unto the creator,they departed the scene leaving albums that will stand the test of time for years to come.
