The KingKorg is a virtual analog/digital hybrid synth that invites tweaking and experimentation, yet is designed for the gigging musician in mind by not only producing awesome vintage and new school synth sounds, but also including the ability of it to also produce more typical sounds like piano, strings, organs, brass and electric pianos.

At the heart is its 24 voice/2 part multi-timbral engine with a fat sounding 3 oscillator architecture with 127 available types, a resonant filter with 18 models (the TB-303 filter is particularly great!), filter and pitch envelopes & LFOs, a typically great 16 band vocoder and 6 virtual patches per timbre allowing plenty of modulation links. A typical arpeggiator allows up to 8 steps which can be turned on and off, running on one or both timbres at once.

On top of this is 3 discrete FX units (pre/mod/output) with 6 types each inserted at the points they make sense - ie for example pre FX like bit crushing or guitar amp on the oscillators, flangers or tremolos on the body, and reverbs or delays on the output signal. Its a clever system which invites tweaking as each effect knob has its own parameter modifying control(s).

On the entire mix there is a global 2 band EQ, and Korgs famous valve drive system which uses a genuine 12AX7 valve for driving the signal. Ive been getting some very dirty sounds out of this!

For people new to synths this will bring you in the best way possible, a great sounding versatile synth that is enjoyable and easy to use.

And synth-heads dont be scared off by the traditional sounds. They can be completely interpreted as one or more of the 3 total oscillators using the complete synth architecture. In this regard this adds just more ability to be inventive over synths that contain just traditional waveforms.
