From the Birds & Flowers of Beautiful Cathay Plate Series
The Franklin Mint released the Birds & Flowers of Beautiful Cathay series of plates between 1981 and 1983. Each plate is 193mm in diameter and features a handpainted 24 karat gold border. Each of the plates is hand stamped on the back with the artist Wei Tseng Yang's "chop".
Each Birds and Flowers of Beautiful Cathay plate represents one of the 24 separate periods of the Chinese Year. They are painted in the Nanpai style.
