Description
In the mid seventies NZ had the Marlboro Series, an international open class bike series raced on both street courses like Wanganui (as it was spelt and the time) and road courses like Pukekohe.
The Marlboro Series attracted top class riders from the US and Australia along with some Europeans to compete against New Zealand's own stars.
This image is of John Boote racing his new Yamaha TZ700 at the Wellington round in, I think, 1974.
Christchurch teenager, John Boote, was the first rider in the world to experience the power and performance of the new generation of Yamaha racing motorcycles and proved that the Japanese manufacturer had finally arrived as a supplier of big bore racing bikes.
This drawing is one of a series I am doing featuring famous (and infamous) New Zealand motorcycle heroes and the low resolution photo does not do the finished print justice. This print is one of a limited edition of 75 printed on heavy art paper suitable for framing. Each print is individually signed & numbered by myself.
Standard print size is A3 but prints are available on request from A4 to A1 (price on application)
See my other listings for more classic Motorcycling and Motor racing prints or contact me if you would like an original drawing of your own classic or competition vehicle.
