Have you ever had your model run away on you? Possibly ending up in an expensive crash?
That can be avoided by using a Fail Safe.
You insert the Fail Safe in-line with the servo you would like it to take control of in event of a lost signal, the fail safe will do what-ever you programmed it to do. I.e. on you steering you can program it to turn sharply when the signal is lost. That way your model cannot take off over the horizon!! Or you can simply program it to apply brakes with all passion....
Very handy, and very affordable insurance for you asset!!
Using your Fail Safe:
1.) Chose which servo you would like to use the Fail Safe on, typically the throttle/brake servo. (you can use one fail safe per servo) 2.) Unplug the designated servo from the receiver and plug it into the main part of the fail safe. 3.) Plug the fail safe into the receiver unit where the designated servo use to be plugged in. 4.) Switch on your transmitter then your receiver as per normal. 5.) Now keep an eye on the designated servo and switch off the transmitter to simulate a lost signal. The designated servo will pull to one side, i.e either apply brakes or apply throttle. 6.) Now set the desired action during a lost signal by adjusting the small screw hole marked as “Set” on the Fail Safe body. Slowly rotate the screw either way, if there’s any resistance stop and start rotating the other way, be gentle with it. 7.) Rotating the “Set” screw will adjust which direction the servo would turn in event of a lost signal. Set it to apply the brakes. 8.) When the fail safe is active (during signal loss) the light is illuminated and while there is no signal loss the light will not be illuminated to save your battery power.
