Description
Sealink (Auckland based vehicle ferry service to Hauraki Gulf islands) has a curious system of selling return car ferry tickets (to/from Waiheke) to residents for $126 each. But you (vehicle and 1 passenger) can only use them both ways. You cant (for example) use each leg to go TO Auckland from the island. You can only use them to get back there. Now that we have bought a car to leave permanently on Waiheke, we find ourselves with two tickets each with a TO WAIHEKE trip. A one-way ticket costs $120 (only $6 less than the residents' 2 way ticket!) So if you buy my 2 tickets, you and a vehicle (under 5m long) can get two trips TO Waiheke which would normally cost $240.00. Selling for less than half price.
